Educational Qualification:
A learner should preferably have passed Class 10. However, passing Class 10 is not compulsory. The most important requirement is a genuine interest and willingness to learn Information Technology.

Computer Practice:

The e-learning content of OS-CIT is available in Odia, English and Hindi, making the course accessible to learners from different language backgrounds.

OS-CIT is an Information Technology literacy course designed to develop essential computer, digital and IT skills for everyday life, education, employment and professional activities.
OS-CIT was started by Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited in 2011 and is designed to promote IT awareness, IT literacy, functionality and practical applicability among learners. The course aims to help bridge the digital divide and improve learners' knowledge, confidence and readiness for the modern digital workplace.
The OS-CIT course provides a structured combination of theoretical learning, practical computer activities, self-study, revision and practice. The complete course consists of 144 hours over 3 months, including 50 hours of theory, 50 hours of practical learning and 44 hours of homework, reading, self-study, revision and practice.
The course covers a wide range of modern digital skills. According to the official OS-CIT syllabus, learners can develop 200 plus skills through different learning modules and activities. The course delivery framework focuses on learning by doing, evidence-based learning, continuous evaluation, practical activities, gamification, 21st-century skills and multilingual learning.

The course also includes assessment and examination components. The official examination structure includes objective and practical components and assesses learners at different levels of difficulty. The final examination is conducted through the online evaluation system, and successful learners receive an online certificate through the applicable certification process.
